On the road to democracy
President Bush spoke to the American Enterprise Institute tonight. Here is his actual speech.
What is interesting to note is that there was much less emphasis on removing WMD or on violations of UN resolutions and much more on liberating Iraqis and the whole ME including of course the Palestinians.
For the Palestinians he emphasized the end of terror and the establishment of democracy but he made no mention of '67 borders. So it looks like a state is a foregone conclusion. This can only happen if the US succeeds in growing the seeds of democracy throughout the whole ME.
