News and views on Israel, Zionism and the war on terrorism.

January 13, 2003

Remember L'affair Netanyahu, when Concordia "students" prevented Benjamin Netanyahu from speaking? Well, well, well - now it's Sari Nusseibeh that has been prevented from speaking by "students". It didn't occur exactly at Concordia, but rather at Nablus University (close enough?). Here is the news story from the Jerusalem Post, 13 Jan 2003:
Palestinian students blocked Palestinian moderate Sari Nusseibeh from speaking at their Nablus university on Monday, accusing him of betraying the interests of their people.

Nusseibeh has drawn considerable fire from fellow Palestinians because of his public statements recommending that Palestinians drop their traditional demand to allow millions of refugees and their families return to Israel and opposing violence against Israel.
Am I allowed two minutes of Schadenfreude?
