3 Arabs held for cafe poison plot
Security officials have arrested three Jerusalem Palestinians linked to Hamas and accused of plotting to lace drinks at the city's Rimon Cafe with poison.
. . . the alleged ringleader, Othman Said, 22, a chef at Ramon, from the Silwan neighborhood, is to be charged with attempted murder later this week. . . .
According to police, the suspects have confessed to plotting to lace pitchers of Coca Cola at the popular cafe in a cul-de-sac off of Ben-Yehuda Street, with a tasteless, odorless poisonous substance that was to have been provided by Fahri, a Hebrew University of Jerusalem laundromat employee. He was to have made the compound with the help of instructions from the Hamas web site, security officials said.
